Sitting before me is the canvas of my life.
Next to me sitting, waiting (sometimes) patiently are the brushes, paints, pastels, charcoals and implements with which I can choose to repaint my dream.
With the closing of one door, 3 others open before me. Which one do I choose?
I can hear Tori Amos sing (as if only to me), “It’s your choice, babe.”
Yes, it’s my choice. So I ask myself, “What do I want this time?” Where do I want to go? What do I want to create?
Sometimes the hardest part of any journey is the first step. I find that the first mark on the canvas, pointing my toes in the direction of my dream, is the hardest to make.
I seem to be stuck on the question, wondering, what will I paint this time?
So now I ask you, “What do you see when you look at your dream? What would you change, repaint, remove or add?”
Some inspiring quotes:
Every story I create, creates me. I write to create myself. – Octavia E. Butler
Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world. – Harriet Tubman
You have to dream before your dreams can come true. – A. P. J. Abdul Kalam
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before. – Edgar Allan Poe
All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible. – T. E. Lawrence
May you find your dream and paint it, fearlessly recreating it at your own whim.
Namaste.
