Feeling it to heal it

ID-100311985

Stuff it.
Don’t feel it.
Shut down the factory.
Only one emotion allowed: happiness.
Smile. Laugh.
But for God’s sake, don’t fucking get angry or cry.

Buck up, soldier.
There’s a war.
Against what you feel.
Against what you want.
Against what you know.
Against you, your-self.

Strap on your boots and march.
Only happy people are allowed.
Strap on your smile, too.
Fake it until you make it.
Cry and seethe in your closet.
Hide it all behind the mask.

Got it?
Good, it’s about time.
The parade-of-the-fear-of-emotions-other-than-happiness starts now.
Sweep anything else under the rug.
Just don’t peek!

Yep, you heard right.
I said fear.
We fear ourselves; what we feel.
Think positive, only!
No bad thoughts allowed.
No sad thoughts, either.
(How is that positive?” you dare say?
Be quiet, kid, drink your Kool-aid!)

“Don’t think negative.”
That’s a fucking lie… and it’s negative!
It hurts us, closes is off.
To be clean, the dirt needs to be removed first.
My dear, you have to feel it to heal it.
Only then can you be free from it.
Uncover your forbidden emotions.

Once felt and seen as they are:
Energy moving through you,
Only then can you be free of them.
Put them in perspective.
Allow yourself to heal; get out of your own way.

Look! You will see, they are but mere shadows.
Bring them to the light.
Examine them.
Let them flow.
Punch a pillow.
Cry your eyes out for 5 minutes…

Feel it to heal it.
Allow the emotions to pass through.
Feeling it frees you from it.
Allow yourself to be yourself.
A living, feeling, breathing
Human Being!

Be free!

Namaste.

Writing out my thoughts has helped me to gain a new perspective of myself. In sharing these writings, it is my hope to help others to better understand themselves. It is my belief that with each of us who chooses this path of greater understanding of thy self, that it inspires others to do the same. This building momentum is the force that drives me to share, for in my vulnerability, I find my strength. I believe that you can also find yours there. ~~~In reading some of my posts, you will see that growth is not always pretty. It is in breaking apart and coming undone that a seed sprouts and breaks free of its own captivity. It is also out of mud that the lotus blossoms. ~~~Please join me in seeing the beauty of growth within the deconstruction of our limiting beliefs. ~~T.C.
