Many people carry some form of shame about sex. It is interesting to see how the very act that created most of us is so endemically shameful. What does that say about how we feel about ourselves?
Perhaps this is also why so many of us feel disparaged regarding the opposite sex, as well.
Why does the act of two people coming together to create new life, or at least to go through the motions and share a common God-sanctioned bond, create the feelings of shame and guilt?
So many of us feel shame about our needs, our desires as well as the pleasures we give and receive. It just seems so nihilistic for one to be ashamed of how we were created.
Perhaps this is also a reflection of our own deep-seeded self-hatred. This is something into which each of us could delve further, keeping in mind that what we resist persists.
Namaste.
