Walk with me, skirting the edge
of reality’s boundaries
so we can dance with the darkness
that is seducing our minds.
The slopes are slippery, footing precarious
Fantasies beckon from the mist of desire
But truth whispers from life’s bowels
questioning our sinful disdain.
From a different vantage point
finding the stillness within
shedding the shame
see the light & dark are all the same.
~~~Another poem birthed from my trip further south. I had the distinct pleasure of meeting with both Dana of Love Letters Lost at Sea & A. Castaneda of The View Through a Cracked Lens. It was a gorgeous day & I had a lovely time meeting with them both in person. Both are beautiful souls whose work I greatly enjoy & I hope you do, as well! If not, check them out! That’s an order. =)
I am enjoying meeting bloggers in person, this may become a new goal for the year!
Aww, Vic! We don’t live too far apart and I was in town for a concert. Next time I travel, I hope to let others know so I can meet more bloggers. It’s quite lovely to sit, chat and write! And if you’re ever in the VA way, let me know.
Thank you for posting this, Tiffany. That first stanza had been sitting, waiting to be finished for quite some time. I’m glad that it was able to be written with both of you. It was a lot of fun spending time with both you. Wish I could have stayed longer.
Another collaboration I was blessed to be a part of. Meeting the bloggers behind the screen adds so much more depth to the words scribed. Thank you, Tiffany, for your bravery in meeting me. And thank you, Adam, for your bravery in breaking routine.
Next time, there won’t be any “sneaking” — whiskey will be on the menu! 😉
Last week, with Dana’s encouragement, I took some time away from my ultra-busy work schedule to enjoy the morning with both Dana and Tiffany. It was definitely a much needed break, and one that I wish would come along more often. While I wish I could have spent more time with them, at least I was able to partake in one collaboration with both of them. Hope you enjoy it.
Adam, it was a pleasure to hang out with you, even though it was brief. Thank you for taking the time to start a little poetry! Next time, we’ll not meet during a workday! =)
