Doing the same thing everyday becomes monotonous quickly and creates dissatisfaction.
Creating new ways to do the routine things in life adds some spice and warms the heart.
Yesterday, while I made my breakfast, I played “Up for the Downstroke” by Parliament. Though I pan-scrambled my eggs the same way I do everyday, damn, if they didn’t taste better. I think it was all the hip shaking, sliding and gliding I did while I was making them. Now I have the weekend to practice my grooves before my kids are here to witness my new routine…shaking it!
Today (and everyday) I encourage you to find a new way to bring happiness into your life. After all, happiness is truly an inside job.
Now dance like no one is watching and get up for the downstroke, that’s an order!
Writing out my thoughts has helped me to gain a new perspective of myself. In sharing these writings, it is my hope to help others to better understand themselves. It is my belief that with each of us who chooses this path of greater understanding of thy self, that it inspires others to do the same. This building momentum is the force that drives me to share, for in my vulnerability, I find my strength. I believe that you can also find yours there.
~~~In reading some of my posts, you will see that growth is not always pretty. It is in breaking apart and coming undone that a seed sprouts and breaks free of its own captivity. It is also out of mud that the lotus blossoms. ~~~Please join me in seeing the beauty of growth within the deconstruction of our limiting beliefs. ~~T.C.
Ooh, interesting perspective. Shake it up, whether figuratively or literally. Hehe. A new way to look at gaining happiness. 🙂
I think doing new things in general can be quite good to us, though we avoid it in favour of routine.
To encourage people to take the road less travelled or to get out of their comfort zone, I wrote an article on the benefits of trying new things in our lives. Do give it a read here:
