Be Yourself: Spiral Out & Keep Going

The song Lateralus by Tool sings to the depths of my soul. Not only is Maynard James Keenan a lyrical and musical genius (see YouTube, below), he also captures in a very simple and meaningful way the process of spiritual birth and growth in this one, very beautiful and poetic song.

From the “black and white” conscience of unawakened duality to a budding awareness where one begins to see in colors and from a broader more spiritual and accepting perspective, MJK covers all bases eloquently. From overthinking and the separation of the body from the mind, to using One’s intuition while spiraling and reaching out into new realms and dimensions; opening to infinite possibilities. MJK encourages us to reach outside the box. Pretty effing amazing in my humble opinion.

Halfway through the song, Maynard’s lyrics encourage us to feel the rhythm, be connected and fathom the beauty. To me, this speaks to our need to find our own individual voices: to follow whatever will bewilder and inspire us.

If we cannot speak with our own voices then we are not being true to ourselves nor to any other human being. Embrace your divinity & still be a human. Find your voice and speak it. Sing it, be it.

So here I raise a toast to each of us to “spiral out, keep going & push the envelope, watch it bend.” So be it!

Many thanks to MJK for his willingness to follow his voice, spiral out and share both his humanity and divinity with us.

The Holy Grail Hidden Within Duality

The Vesica Pisces is a common visual presence across many world religions. In Italian it is called a mandalora (almond), similar to the Indian Mandala. Within the center of each of these religious symbols balance is achieved. Most importantly, one reaches this center through the synthesis of the two edges of Duality. It is in this space that a new consciousness is born.

This concept is so simple that it may just be unbelievable and thus easily dismissed. At the same time, the work required is not always so easy as it may initially sound. For how does one merge two opposites?

Yet the key to our release from suffering is found by allowing without judgment the simultaneous existence of two opposites. It is in the center of these two overlapping circles that we can transcend Duality. This is not a compromise. Instead it is a synthesis and if permitted to fully unfold, it is transcendent.  I call this moment of synthesis The God Moment.

The journey to the God moment can be a most painful process when we walk through the valleys of the shadows of death. Yet at other times such as during sex, the joining of two opposites can be incredibly erotic…and hopefully pleasurable.

It now makes so much sense as to why many of us seek these edges. In seeking the highs, and often unintentially the lows, we are seeking something greater than ourselves. Yet it is often during these times that we turn to distractions and addictions that prevent us from fully experiencing and marrying the edges of Duality. Thus we miss the God moment and we miss the opportunity to become transcendent.

Allowing the dual existence of two opposites is the key to our release from our suffering, yet this surrender can seem to tear us apart and is why so many of us stop the process just prior to its full fruition. It is our faith and our ability to breathe through the process that allows us to pass through the valley – and transcend it. We must believe that our thoughts, beliefs and emotions cannot kill us. Yet we have been taught to fear our shadow and the baggage that it brings, so it can be challenging to walk with these aspects and this prevents us from being able to transcend them. Walking with our shadows means we must acknowledge them; things we were taught to avoid at all costs.

On a very basic level, transcendence is sexual. The merging of two opposite energies is how new life can be created. For with each aspect of Duality that we transcend, we are born again and see life in a new way. Are you excited yet?!

Furthermore it is in these moments of synthesis that we touch and are touched by something greater than ourselves: God. The more we can merge these edges, the more we merge heaven and earth.

Sadly, just as with sex, eventually we also return to our experience of Duality. With each action of life we produce both light and shadow. Thus the shadow emerges to give us repeated opportunities to heal and transcend through another synthesis and another rebirth. No wonder the Vesica Pisces has such a vulvar look to it, or maybe it’s just me?

An intentionally repeated image. The other images I’d like to have used here would be considered pornographic…sadly

Now I plan to investigate the use of Sex as a means of transcendence. I have a strong sense that this use of sexual energies requires foundational work that goes beyond casual sex. I’ve read some about tantra and have a feeling I’ll find more answers there…if you’ve read anything along these lines, feel free to share sources in the comments section or gmail me at tiffanybeingfree. In the meantime, I’ll leave you with various images of the Vesica Pisces or mandalora.

Mother Mary depicted within the Mandalora, the space between Duality.

The fish symbol of Christianity is a variation of the Vesica Pisces.

The Vesica Pisces is also the basic pattern for the seed -, tree – and flower of life.

The flower of life

While I’ve written about this synthesis of duality within the Owning Your Own Shadow series, based on readings from the book by Robert A. Johnson, today brings an entirely new level of understanding. Healing is about sex: the merging of two opposites.

Enigma: Puzzling Pieces

Dead Can Dance is one of my favorite musical groups. Eclectic sounds on ancient and varied instruments coupled with the voice of the Diva Lisa Gerrard are just well, fucking amazing. I’ve listened to their music for over half my life now, sometimes I hear the lyrics as if for the first time.

Today, in reflecting on recent life experiences, movies (The Imitation Game: Behind Every Code is an Enigma), posts I have read and created, interactions with other bloggers and the unfolding of my own cryptic, binary, puzzling enigma, this song popped into my mind.

While I prefer Lisa’s voice, the lyrics here are just too poignant for where I have been lately. The desire for truth and intimacy without the facade is so fully expressed in this song…and my lifelong desire to be understood by another, a lover. I can remember this longing as early as the age of 10 (though it probably started at birth, I have few memories of my life before 10 that are positive).

In reading what others are writing lately, I know others can relate to these lyrics.

Dead Can Dance
“The Enigma of the Absolute”

Saloman hung down her head
Laid bare her heart for the world to see.
She craved for intimacy.
Through darkened doors her aspect veiled with indecision, gazed out sea.

She craved lucidity.
Cast adrift from past relationships in her life,
Hoisted up the ideal. This was her saving grace.
Seas of rage that once assailed her concern for the truth

Had passed her by and left her high and dry in her saviours arms.
Across the sea lies the fountain of renewal,
Where you will find the whole cause of your loneliness
Can be measured in dreams that transcend all these lies
And I wish and I pray that there may come a day for a saviours arms.

This image could not be ignored given repeated mental images of the Merkab recently. Interesting that I’m “wrapping” my mind around the various layers of meaning behind annual, the return to the beginning, represented by the ouroboros (the seeing of something for the first time!) Will post more as my understanding unfolds. Sometimes my muse water drips concepts that can be confusing; Grace in action, I suppose.

Woman v/v: At Home Again

Woman v/v
by Ax

Beneath a canopy symbolic of my heart,
held to breast, the beating sound pounds,
as life from within seeping across holds dear,
the woman in my dream so near.

Side by side to walk and run under moon or sun,
through rain or shine her comfort is mine,
where she will find a place provided,
in my care undivided.

In the presence of life outside our castle,
would be the essence of a devoted couple,
lead by my courage to protect,
showing all her worth of my respect.

Behind closed doors in a humble abode,
stripped of rags that hang off flesh and bone,
exposing the desire of two hearts that are free,
melting into a blissful menage a vie.

A woman, a mother, a lover, mates the soul,
when restraints are placed to submit in whole,
collared in leather snapping the lock closed,
allowing her pleasure to surrender to my hold.

Ax

The stanza structure continues to consist of four lines each with a rolling, wave-like form that matches the flow of words and the poet’s loss of rigidity from i and ii.

Here the poet comes out of his shell, seeing the woman of his dreams so close. He gifts his lover his heart, his shelter, his protection and his affection. She is his soul mate and meets his needs for nurturing, by the end she gifts to him her submission. He protects her, while she nurtures him. Together they dance, free to be their own yet together as soul mates.

There is the hint of the fairy tale romance in “our castle,” yet what the poet describes is more of a consummate versus romantic love with displays of commitment, passion and intimacy . The two are stripped bare in their humble abode, fully transparent to one another within their space, their place of love. Together they are home. Even in bad weather they are side-by-side. This speaks to the energy of soul ascension through the activation of the twin flame; healing in their unification and balancing of one another.

He desires only her and sees her for all of her Divine aspects: woman, mother, lover, soul mate. She is venerated and respected for all that she is by him. There is an implied reciprocation in her submission. Through her, he is no longer lost nor hiding, but found. He is now at home with himself, while together they make a home of unconditional Love; any time of day, in any weather – regardless of the condition, thus unconditional.

In collaring her, owning and controlling her, she entrusts him with her safety; gifting submission. Hers is the desire to be desired and to please him. In playing the scene, she releases her inhibitions and burdens. In bondage, she becomes more free. He loves and respects her for the strength in her vulnerability. His reward is her complete trust in him as a provider who understands her needs. Through the D/s relationship, they live in the present, balanced and complete; both complimentary where they differ in qualities. Quite a lovely conclusion to the series; the poet is at home with his Goddess on all levels while she reciprocates.

Much gratitude, Ax, for allowing me to experience how a man views and loves a woman through your work. It was an amazing and sometimes breath-taking experience. I hope that I have done your poetry even an ounce of justice.
Tomorrow, I will post how this experience affected me personally.

Lyrics to “I’m Yours/Somewhere Over the Rainbow” wrap up this series into a neat little bow. While I had planned to use https://www.youtube.com/embed/PElhV8z7I60” target=”_blank”>”islands” by the xx all along, after hearing the featured song by coincidence I was struck by the strong correlations between the series and the lyrics. Here I tie the series to the lyrics:

Woman i: Wishing Upon a Star His Goddess is born by him wishing upon a star.
Woman ii: A Closer View The poet cannot wait to claim his fate
Woman iii: The Melding I tried to be chill but you’re so hot that I melted
Woman iv: In Living Colour is seen easily in the rainbow and I’m yours
Woman v: Home Again is from the silently implied lyric there is no place like home from the film, The Wizard of Oz.

Sacred Geometry of the Divine Union

Geometry is one of my favorite subjects. As I move through this journey, I keep seeing images of the geometry behind the sacred, or Divine Union of the Divine Feminine & Masculine.

I will do my best to illustrate what I am growing to understand, this is my first attempt to explain this in such depth, even to myself. The mystery is unfolding before me and this is the most I understand at this time. As my understanding grows, I will be sure to share it!

Triangles
In science the triangle shaped Delta denotes change, movement, this will be important in a few moments. For now, let’s look at the geometrical basics of the triangle. The triangle is comprised of 3 sides that can vary in length, where two lines meet is called a vertex and forms either a right or acute angle. To form a triangle, the three vertices equal 180 degrees.

Structurally, triangles form the most basic building structure. The triangle is a stronger structural shape than the square. Look at the ancient Egyptian pyramids, Mesopotamia’s Ziggurats and Mesoamerica’s Castillo’s and then compare their still standing structure against the “younger” square shaped Ancient Roman and Greek structures.

Separate Forces

Upward facing triangle is masculine
This triangle represents the rising force of Heaven, fire and air; I’d add that it’s also electricity. The energy of the Hunter, which is often represented by lightening in many ancient cultures. Furthering the query, his represents divine inspiration and the aspiration to perform and complete; to conquer & to spread his seed. His is the hero’s journey whose overarching purpose is to protect.

Downward facing triangle is feminine
This triangle represents the force of Earth or gravity, and includes the elements earth and water. The energy of the Gatherer, she uses her magnetism to pull to her what she needs, just as the force of gravity is magnetic so is that of the divine feminine. Her chalice, or womb, is needed for manifestation. Hers is the void, the unseen, the keeper of the mysteries (think of the connection here to feminine cycles, gestation, childbirth and breastfeeding; all mysterious). Hers is the story of the mother with the overarching purpose to nurture.

Divine UnionDivine Union: Perfect Balance & Manifestation
When the two divine forces come together (sly grin), they form the Divine Union of manifestation & create a perfect balance. Each triangle needs to bring with in itself as much balance as possible for the union to have its greatest impact (hence all this GD alchemy and healing I keep blabbing about).

Together, the two triangles represent 360 degrees: A Perfect Circle. One can also trace the outline of the formed shape as infinity, or a twisted circle: the number 8.

The conjoined triangles are also found in the center of the heart chakra. Additionally, all four elements are joined together in the Divine Union through his fire & air, while she provides the materials for formation of life: water & earth. She supplies the womb or chalice while he provides the seed. He protects her and she nurtures him. It’s almost like it’s Divinity (oh, wait, that is what I’m talking about here).

Tiffany is speechless. Wait, what?
As I write, I’m in awe of so many pieces coming together at once. I don’t know what else to say at this point. I’m filled with the magic of self-discovery and awe that so much of this came through my varied experience, being able to see the big picture from within.

With the exception of checking the direction of the triangles and ensuring my memory of the degrees of a triangle (it’s been a while), everything else was from my vague understanding of sacred geometry and separately of the Divine Feminine & the Divine Masculine through personal study. However, most of this is from information I have begun to understand through meditations and daily living, and little whisperers. I’m not saying that what I’ve displayed here is correct, this is just my understanding.

So, really Tiffany, what does all this mean?
Oh, yes, that. How could I forget?! The 3-Dimensional version of the Star of David is the Merkaba, the Divine Vehicle. This can assist in taking us to our fullest potential of self-actualization. So it’s kind of a BFD.

I believe that we are moving upwards as a planet and this may be why so many of us are letting go of our old, non-working relationships and seeking the twin flames for our Divine Union. Whew!

Please feel free to comment and make any corrections or your own correlations!
