Unfiltered from the heart

the contraction
an evasive action
to hold it all back
everything stuffed within
as if to convey
no (okay, minimal) reaction
if the witness could only feel
what was moving beneath
the
steely
veneer

diving in
the spaciousness begins
when allowed, permitted to grow:
allowing the fears to be just as they are
breathing new life into the fears’ awareness
no longer pushing them all away;
for to do so brings them back another day
oft in
a more
sinister way

feeling each breath move
as it is meant to
being and doing no more
than that moment
of surrender to the forces
some in breaths short
allowing the death at the end of each breath
permits a new emergence in a new way

growing spaces
allowing the contraction
permitting the expansion
simultaneously permitting &
letting go of the duality
