these are moments when
if i could
i’d throw it all away

it’s good there is no match
or magickal eraser
in which to clean the slate

i’ve learned time & again
these are like tsunami buoys
informing, warning me

the emotional wave
i’ve been riding
is about to peak

& is not the time
to ditch, even when
the pitch is at the highest degree

trash can moments
if i can just stay still
and keep breathing

counting slowly to 10
i know it will peak
the denouement pending

until it is time to begin again
so grateful i really couldn’t have
thrown it all away

It’s all of it, the joy and sadness, that make us who we are.

    1. Yes, so true, Rob! And I find when I’m able to stay w the trials in my own life, it helps me to be there for others …
