as i sat, reflecting on the concept of heady, intellectual affirmations gone awry
i chose to switch gears & put my mind in neutral
allowing my awareness to sink into the depths of my heart
then opening & allowing instead of directing
i saw where connections crossed in lines
that were beyond any words i know to be able to describe
the literal song playing in the background
better than any i could have chosen from any soundtrack:
“right where it belongs” by nin
in that moment, all of me felt i was right were i belonged
soon the tears streaked down my cheeks
sitting there, merely waiting for the co-op store to open its doors
feeling the universe with no words
there was no need to hold back any of the tears
nor to wipe them away
no shame, no grief
for in that brief
moment of bliss
i felt a depth of love
that was unconditional
that showed me
things beyond words
could ever be used to express
the impetus?
a willingness to be receptive
a willingness to receive the next message, the next movement
in a moment of pure presence
instead of forcing & trying to dictate it through bloody effing affirmations
