inner tides push & pull
at times, well, perhaps maybe even most of the time
i can be resistant to their natural flow
opposing their motion
pushing down what wants to rise up
pulling inward what wants to expand outwardly
this is when the work of living quickly becomes quite tf exhausting

having believed the ardent lies of having been told
where i have been too much of one thing &
it’s opposite, not enough of another
& quite possibly both over the same thing or personality trait
after all, isn’t it all just a matter of perspective?
where beauty (or lack thereof) lies in the eye of the beholder

my opposing actions in either direction
just a means to deny myself & this world
the me i am here to be

with each moment that i can be with
the rising energy as it lifts
& with the expanding energy as it moves laterally (or outwardly, as it were)
the more i shed the lies that limit
the me that i am here to be

riding the waves along their seams
breaking the holds that i created
& that have barred me from being me
breaking their beams into smithereens
into elemental fragments from which new growth arises
an ever burgeoning alchemy

my energy in these moments approaches infinity
& my excitement for living grows along the same lines
a life of passion that is mine … to just get the eff out of my own way

and with this, another quest comes to a close.
much gratitude moves outwardly (along waves) to everyone
who traveled alongside whether quietly or vocally
whether it was brief or the entire time
it is my deepest hope that you enjoyed the ride!

  2. This post reminds me of one of my favorite songs – To Be Over. Lyrics start at 1:48.
