vertical tile game
rearranging all the things
making way in every sort of way
for starting today, the flooring is being replaced
broken in walls repaired & painted
in seeing the spaces shift & open
my mind does the same
donating & tossing many a thing
that no longer fit this space
prior to exhausting all fuel
finding it passed time to get things in line
moving fixtures out of fixed points
seeing the same space from a different place
reversing the exhaustion
at least for now
a sense of completion
& of victory
before the demolition & undoing of it all
a fresh start begins 🙂

this has been such a tiring process & year. this song fits how i feel at this time: both invincible & tired. as the day wears on, i may feel as if i had run a half-marathon this weekend & i probably did with all the stairs i stepped, jk. plus i just love all the syncopation & the marching drums at bits … it just fits how i’ve felt 1/2 off the beat lately & yet still marching because it’s what needs to be done to get ‘er done.
