there is a sweet silence to the
blanketing sound of the blower
whirling air about the room
its oppressive squashing of all other sounds
is comforting & oddly supportive of
lulling me into a sleepy trance considerably
better than any “noise” machine i’ve ever had.

there is both an excitement & a deeper peace
there is a deeper sense of relief
an undoing of the damage even though only
roughly half-way done considering all the trim to be laid
the new flooring is stunning & is starting to feel
worth all the speculating & waiting & preparations
shhh! don’t tell anyone yet this is how i finally feel!

again, dropping back & down
my muscles fatigued & ready for release
sinking into the blanket of sweet silence
a whirling of air about the room
where (nearly) all other sounds get squashed
i revel in the openness & am grateful for
the opportunity to begin again
right where i started 4 months before
yet shifted somehow

  3. Oh I do know the work involved in laying a floor. Good for you, Tiffany. I also understand being pulled into only what it is that you are creating.

    1. The work and the wait will be worth it and … wow it’s been a lot of both lol. I keep reminding myself that this too shall pass. Though seeing the floors transform has been such a relief for sure ♥️🌹
