there are times when the memories
crop up between the seams
ones that had been seemingly beyond
the need for reflecting
yet in arising to the surface
revealing the things forgotten
unbidden guests presenting
generally at incredibly
inconvenient times

the common themes
one of betrayal
another of forgiveness
mainly for myself
having not really seen
the flags until the
swan song was already sung

it’s time to let go & move on along
while doing my best to not repeat
the same paths taken before
breathing into the memories
breathing out & letting go
once more

  1. It always does that Tiffany, so we can see just how far we have come. It is a great guidance, even if a bit painful in remembering. But that is how we understand that we have, or have not, forgiven ourselves or others. Mine come up like that…so I have a piece of chocolate. And as time goes on my consumption reduces. I’m down to 50kg a week now 🤣, but I was 100kg 😂. But…we will get there kind lady, with great love it changes us…to slowly be free. And a little richer, that chocolate is too rich, in emotional holding, diet or money 🤣❤️🙏

    1. Strong work, Mark! Yes, that self-forgiveness can certainly be a thing: our prison or our freedom – depending on what we choose.

  2. Your words sing true…
It always happens the same with me. I try to let go and pray that others have truly forgiven me for what I think I may have done wrong to them. I even tried to go back to others from time to time and apologize. They just say … oh, I don’t remember that or something else similar. But no matter what I do these thoughts still come back. I never wish to totally forget…I just wish not to punish myself for the past.

    1. Yes, I 100% agree: it’s about putting down the hot coal against ourselves – not necessarily forgetting, just letting go of that hot coal so as to no longer burn ourselves. We are all human & make mistakes. It is in forgiving ourselves that we can better see & experience both the humanity in ourselves & in others. Much love to you, my friend.
